New Synopsis

A real life story about one man’s struggle to keep his family together against all odds. What would you do if social workers came knocking on your door, with only ‘smoke and mirrors’ evidence they had come for your children? Would you fight for your family or would you simply let them steal your children?

New Review

This is a gripping and very detailed account of one family’s experiences with social services, and other regulatory and child support agencies, over a prolonged period of time.

It is written in an authentic voice and is presented as a true story. The narrative is very detailed and is well organised over a timeline that spans more than a decade.

It reports many meetings, court hearings and conversations with professionals who work in the educational and child protection fields and is easy to follow.

The book makes some very serious allegations of wrong-doing against the agencies involved. However, no evidence is presented to support them. Reference is made to official documents and reports, and if snippets or photo-copies were reproduced in the book it would add to the credibility of the claims.

The narrative is engaging but has not been edited. If the grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors were removed, and the text was organised into chapters, it would make it easier for the reader.
