Monthly Review – June
Monthly Review – June
Well another month has come to an end – this year seems to be passing at warp speed!! When I was younger I remember my mum saying to me that the older you get the faster the year goes by. As a child I laughed at her, now in my 30’s I can definitely see what she meant.
If your in the UK, we’ve had some horrible weather this month haven’t we? It’s been rain, rain and just for fun a little bit more rain. What has happen to British Summertime?
What better way to keep dry is there than staying indoors and reading a good book, not that we need an excuse! Between myself and the review team we have reviewed a staggering 38 books throughout June from all different genres, including Children’s and YA books.
My personal favourite, and it was a hard choice this month as I have read some superb books, was ‘How to Find Your (First) Husband by Rosie Blake. Talk about having me laughing along to it. The book gave me the giggles throughout and if you’re in need of a good laugh or a ‘pick me up’ then this book will give you just that.
As well as reviews we have taken part in 10 cover reveals for some fabulous books, with beautiful covers.
Alongside reviews and cover reveals we have also posted Blog Tours, Giveaways, Guest Spots, Book Blasts and of course our weekly ‘The Writing Life of:’ interviews.
This month there were five author interviews:- Robert Bryndza author of ‘The Night Stalker’, Cathy Bramley author of ‘The Plumberry School of Comfort Food’, Kaylin McFarren author of ‘Banished Threads’, Caroline Roberts author of ‘The Cozy Teashop in the Castle’ and Jean Nicole Rivers author of ‘Black Water Tales: The Unwanted’.
I have welcomed five new reviewers to our team this month – Elise, Kerstin, Lindsey, Abby and Claire. I’m sure each of them will write some fantastic reviews for you to read. Good news is that we haven’t lost any reviewers either – yay.
AS well as gaining new reviewers we have also gained new social media followers. I would love to thank each of our new followers individually, but there are a great many of you so its a very big THANK YOU from all of us, to all of you.
Talking of social media, from now until the 9th June there is a giveaway on our Facebook page, only for our Facebook followers, so if you want to have a look and maybe enter then you can find our page – here.
Lastly I want to end on a quick note to tell you that between the 1st July and the 10th July we won’t be accepting any review requests. Unfortunately for you, and fortunately for me, I’m on holiday during this period. I am leaving you in the capable hands of my reviewers for the week.
Well that’s it. I hope you all have a happy and healthy July and that the sun makes an appearance for more than a few hours.
Take Care and I’ll speak to you at the end of next month.
