Curious Kids: Age of the Dinosaurs is a factual book for young children all about dinosaurs. On the first page, we meet Terry, a Pterosaur, who is the narrator throughout the book. He tells you all about the different dinosaurs who roamed the earth during the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods.
There are six dinosaurs featured and then the last page is all about how the dinosaurs became extinct. Each double page features a different dinosaur which pops off the page. The illustrations are wonderful and the factual information is dotted around the dinosaur.
I loved this book. I love books that teach children things in a fun, exciting way as I believe that children take in more information when taught this way. Having the dinosaur pop off the page and the factual information written in small separate sections makes this fun. Plus, the information is interesting, there are no boring facts here. I learned some things too. I didn’t realised that the name Velociraptor meant ‘Fast Thief’ or that the Ankylosaurus moved incredibly slowly.
This is a lovely, informative book that any dinosaur-loving child would love to own.
