Albert Toohey has been searching for answers, ever since his scientist dad was killed in a fire three years ago. When an old friend of his dad’s turns up in possession of a mysterious letter, containing clues to a secret project Mr Toohey had been working on, thirteen year old Albert finds himself at the centre of an incredible adventure that is quite literally out of this world.
A dark matter portal may provide a link to another world and maybe, just maybe to his dad, but Albert is not the only one who knows of his dad’s project, and those responsible for Mr Toohey’s death will stop at nothing to finally get their hands on his work, including killing Albert. Now the fate of this world and everything beyond, rests in Albert’s hands.
Snippets from Albert Toohey and the Dark Matter
For Amelie and Norma, time seemed to slow to a virtual stop; flipped upside down, their screams virtually drowned out by the sound of the roof crumpling amidst another avalanche of sparks. Norma’s seat belt gave way under the strain, sending her plummeting head first onto the deformed roof of the car, knocking her instantly unconscious. Amelie was flung forward hitting her head on the windscreen, before being thrust sharply back into the seat, where she hung groggily, blood trickling from a cut to her forehead, as the car finally became still.
Jones dodged the discarded tyres, both of which still spinning in the middle of the road and slowly drove past the upturned beetle, speeding up though when he noticed the pool of petrol that was already starting to form at the back of the car. Jones shook his head sadly, watching the petrol ignite in his rear view mirror, the enjoyment had definitely gone out of his job.
Not my typical read but sounds captivating and intense
Thank you DJ. I totally understand that. Glad you like the sound of it though.
