A beautiful, lyrical story of a little boy and his two best friends, told in enchanting verse by renowned poet Owen Sheers and magnificently illustrated by award-winning artist Helen Stephens.
Poet Owen Sheers and award-winning illustrator Helen Stephens have beautifully imagined the story of a little boy named Drew who sets off on an adventure with his best friends, Bunny and Moo. As the three fly around the world on a magic rug, powered by the friendship they share, they run into pirates and trouble on the dark sea. Can the three best friends find what they need to return home?
Review by Stacey
Drew, Moo and Bunny, Too is a children’s book that features a little boy called Drew and his friends Bunny and Moo, his two teddy’s that come to life when they all go for nightly adventures on a red rug.
The story is quite old-fashioned, as are the illustrations, and even the way the book is presented. There is a lot of text, far more than I was expecting and it will take a few nights for this to be read if you are thinking of buying it for bedtime story time.
The plot though is adventurous and I can see children being entertained by the trio’s encounters and marvel at how they use their courage to get out of a sticky situation.
Drew, Moo and Bunny has been written to keep the memory of a little boy called Drew alive who sadly lost his life aged four to Paediatric Chordoma, there is a charity set up in his name – www.dbwcharity.org too. The book is certainly magical and knowing the above makes it all the more special.
