Five Spooky Friends is a young children’s board book with sections that slide on each double-page so that the reader can move the people/objects/animals back and forth.
The tale is told in a rhyming manner and each page helps the reader to learn to count to five, starting with one purple witch who is flying on her magic broom and ending with five spooky ghosts.
Halloween is my favourite time of the year and I love all these Halloween books. The illustrations are delightful and capture the mood perfectly. It isn’t a creepy or scary book either, so little children can enjoy it fully, they might even laugh at the smiley faces of the pumpkins!!
At just 10 pages long (5 double pages) it is a short book, it is also small in size, and lightweight. All these factors together make this the perfect book for a young child to read and play with. It is also sturdy and tough being a board book. I do advise though that you move the sliders about a few times each before giving the book to a child as they are quite stiff at first.
