Synopsis

Newly orphaned Bia Greenway and her sister visit a rustic country cottage left to them by their grandmother. Outside early one morning to cut Christmas decorations in falling snow, they find a wounded, half-frozen man and bring him inside. Who is he? Who shot him and his horse, and why?

Captain Adrian Dewarr, secretive and suspicious as the beguiling Bia nurses him to health, begins to trust the generous sisters. Gradually, he reveals himself, a cruel murder, and the ongoing attempt to commit another to steal an earldom. But he does not tell all. Will Bia accept him when she discovers who he really is?

Review by Jenna

I was in the mood for a romance this time around and Found Christmas was a wonderful choice.

Jeanette Collins has a skill for writing sweet characters. Every person in this book was just adorable, even the rake, Adrian. It didn’t matter what they were doing, they were still adorable. The author wove in a silly dog too. Woof is a fun side element I found so enjoyable.

Bia and her sister, Letty find a man near death in the snow outside their cottage. He has no identification and since the siblings are new to the area, they have no idea who the man is.

There were lots of fun scenes to follow after this opening act. Letty is the younger of the two girls and a writer. She wants to do many daring and somewhat scandalous things to get materials for her novels. So fun!

The story rolls along and there is a touch of mystery. I liked that story arc and wish it had been a bigger part of the overall plot.

Found Christmas made me smile. I now hope to read more from this author.

Author Info

I spent my career as a painter, and I write poetry but have always wanted to write fiction; since 2003, I have done so.

I have written contemporary romance/mysteries, and many of my books are set in a small community in New Mexico, involving cattle ranchers, horse breeders, artists and writers and others who drift in. Often, a murder must be dealt with, and Sheriff Valdez and two of his deputies figure prominently. Elena Chavez is one of these.

I strive to create intelligent, self-aware characters, and maintain a tight story line. I include a cheerful amount of sex. There are no mega-billionaires or product placements, just interesting people you might like to know, solving their problems.
