Become best friends with Woody and Lucy and see if they can convince Abby that true love can be found at happily never after…
There’s a code to surviving a breakup – you eat Ben & Jerry’s, you buy new shoes, listen to Taylor Swift, watch The Notebook, and then somehow you magically move on. Getting Over Charlie is the first romantic comedy novel in a real-time trilogy that follows the lives and loves of three best friends as they battle and push forwards with life’s changes, losses and loves.
Heartwarming and hilarious, Getting Over Charlie is a hug in a book for anyone going through the same, or a good chick-lit to tuck into and feel as though you’ve stumbled upon three new besties. Which of course, you have…

Review by Stacey
After her boyfriend of two years dumps her on Valentine’s Day, in spectacular fashion, Abby is devastated. She worshipped Charlie, did everything for him, and this is how he thanks her. After locking herself in her room and crying for a week, her best friends Lucy and Woody have had enough and devise the ‘Getting Over Charlie’ plan.
Unfortunately, not everything runs as smoothly as they had hoped. However, it might actually be Charlie himself who brings Abby to her senses, for now!
Getting over Charlie is a laugh-out-loud book that has some seriously amusing moments, and some kinky scenes too. There was one point where I just couldn’t stop laughing, although, I would rather forget it, as it included a trip to the dentist, some stitches, and a mother!!
Whether you have been through a bad break-up, are going through one, or have never had to suffer this way, this book is for you. It is good fun, shows the power of friendship, and is highly imaginative, yet scarily realistic. Without giving any of the plot away, at one point Abby visits a psychologist who explains what men like Charlie are like, what they do to women, and why they do it. Now, I’ve been married for many years, and yet I looked back on the relationships from before I met my husband with fresh eyes and a nod to – you are so right.
This is a beautifully crafted book that will take you away from your everyday life and into the mind of Abby as you join her as she tries to mend her heart. The characters are all well-rounded and you will feel like you have known them forever. Getting over Charlie is a book I adored from the first page to the last. I now can’t wait to continue the story in book two.
