Synopsis
Bella is living her best life in Wynbridge, with her beloved Spaniel, Tink. She’s found a way to keep the house she inherited from her grandparents while expanding her dream business – Away With the Fairies – and she’s ecstatic that Christmas is on the horizon!
In fact, everything is perfect until family friend, Catherine Connelly asks Bella if she’d be willing to rent part of the house to freelance author, Jude who is researching the history of the Connelly Clan and Wynthorpe Hall ahead of turning his findings into a book. The plan had been for Jude to stay at the hall, but he can’t cope with the chaos and Bella reluctantly agrees to open her door to him.
Initially, the pair clash but then friendlier feelings begin to grow and Bella finds herself wondering if Jude could become more than just another guest before it’s time for him to leave. That is, until he announces he has no time for Christmas!
With her favourite time of the year suddenly in jeopardy, will Bella ever feel like she’s home for Christmas?
Review by Stacey
If you ever need a book to put you in a festive mood, Heidi Swain’s Christmas novels will do just that, and Home For Christmas does not buck this trend.
We head back to Wynbridge where Bella Bailey is now running her own business ‘Away with the Fairies’ and enjoying life with her little dog Tink. She reluctantly agrees to allow freelance author Jude to stay with her while he researches the history of Wynthorpe Hall for his new book.
It isn’t plain sailing for Bella and houseguest Jude though as Bella has had to make some home changes to accommodate Jude which she wasn’t happy about but even worse is that Jude is completely rude to her, and, he hates Christmas. 😱
It is always a pleasure to be back in Wynbridge and catch up with the folks there and see how they have progressed. Bella has made many changes since the last time we saw her, from moving into her grandparent’s home to starting a new business. She certainly is now enjoying life and has high hopes for the future.
Home For Christmas is a book that will touch your heart. It is festive, romantic, and uplifting. Once you begin, you won’t want to put it down, and it will leave you with a smile on your face. The characters are warm and inviting and will have you rooting for them. If you have visited Wynbridge in previous novels, then you need to read this book. If you haven’t, don’t worry, this book works perfectly well as a standalone, too.
