Haunted by her peers, and with everyone beginning to suspect her, Charley decides to do something about it. She and her only best friend Olive are going to solve the murders and find out who’s killing off the class before graduation. Charley just needs those pesky ghosts to shut up and give her a hand…

Review by Stacey
How to Survive a Horror Movie is an exhilarating YA novel set in a boarding school on a remote island. The story follows horror movie enthusiast Charley. Her perfect downtime at the weekend is her and her best friends ‘Slasher Saturday’s’ where they watch horror movies back to back.
With the school braced for a torrential storm Charley is looking forward to watching the movies in perfect conditions but soon realises that the storm has brought more than just wind and rain, there is a killer on the loose and is picking off the students one by one. Oh, and the dead are now ghosts!
This book is such good fun. I loved the chapter headings which were all lessons on how to survive a horror movie. Charley is a fab character and one that I found myself getting fully behind. I’m not really much of a horror fan down to how far-fetched most horror movies are but I can honestly say I adored this read from beginning to end, even the supernatural element.
For teens who want an adrenalin-fuelled read, How to Survive a Horror Movie is the book to pick up.
