Follow Ladybird in this short young children’s board book as she meets her creature friends on her travels. Hiding in the meadow who could it be? Lift the flap and discover which insect is hidden amongst the flowers.

The book contains five lift-the-flaps pages, all hiding different creatures, except for the last one when little children will be greeted to themselves looking back at them as the last flap is hiding a mirror.

The pages are very thick and so are the flaps, which will hopefully give parents/carers some comfort when letting a young child read/play with this book on their own. It is also quite small in size and square in shape, perfect for little hands.

Each page is brightly coloured with inviting illustrations and the animals are almost cartoon-like with their big eyes yet are drawn so that they are easy to identify. The font on each page is clear, kept to a minimum, repetitive, and large which is useful for those just starting to learn how to read.

This is a book I can see little children adoring. I mean what young child doesn’t love a lift-the-flaps story, plus with delightful creatures to look at and themselves at the end, this would be ideal for a very young child. It is also a book they can grow up with and learn with as they start their journey to become readers.
