Monthly Review – May
Monthly Review – May
I thought I would start doing a round-up of the months activities on the blog – so welcome to the first one.
I need to start with an apology. For all you authors who have wanted to submit a review request from the team, you will have noticed that we haven’t been taking any for the last couple of weeks. The good news is that we will be opening the review requests again from the 7th June. So if you have something you would like us to consider, then please get in touch from that date onwards.
Some bad news this month. We have had to say goodbye to one of our reviewers – Libby, whilst two other reviewers are taking a break for a little while, as they need to concentrate on writing and exam commitments. We have however welcomed a new reviewer to the team – Laura, who you can find out more about on our ‘Meet the Reviewers‘ page.
If you know anyone who would like to become a reviewer, or you yourself would like to, then take a look at our ‘Join the Review Team‘ page for more information
This months posts
We have taken part in five cover reveals for some fantastic books, with I must say all have gorgeous covers, I hope you agree.
We met authors J.G Clay, Michael-Israel Jarvis, Dane Cobain and lastly Jessica George in the weekly author interview ‘The Writing Life of:‘
If you haven’t had a read of them yet, then find out how they started out becoming authors, their writing process and about their latest book and characters.
We have taken part in numerous blog tours which have included giveaway’s, excerpts, guest posts and of course reviews.
Talking of reviews, this month we have written and posted a staggering 32 reviews for you to peruse over, that works out a more than one a day for the whole of May. We have reviewed children’s, self help, romance, thrillers and lots of other genres – which we hoped you enjoyed reading.
If I had to choose one book that I absolutely adored, out of all the fantastic books that I read this month, That book would have to be ‘Wicked Charms‘ by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton. The book is completely barmy and weird, but the writing style and the way the book hooks you to the page is just superb.
This month we went over the 6,000 followers mark, with a gained of a massive 600 new followers on Twitter. I would like to say on behalf of all the team – Welcome and thank you for following us.
we also reached the target I had set myself of 200 Likes on Facebook. In honour of reaching the target there is going to be a giveaway coming next month, exclusive to Facebook, so if you want to be in with a chance of winning yourself a fantastic prize, keep an eye on our Facebook page.
I hopefully didn’t drone on too much in my first monthly review. Until next month, have a fabulous June and fingers crossed that the weather picks up, and stays nice and sunny. Take Care, from Stacey and all the review team at Whispering Stories.
