Review by Stacey

I need to start by stating that I don’t have ADHD nor does anyone in my family, I have however worked with people with the condition and I have an Autistic son so I know a bit about the condition.

My Amazing ADHD Brain: A Child’s Guide to Thriving with ADHD features a monster called Pip who has ADHD and they are sharing their knowledge about the condition and some tips (called Pip’s Tips) with the reader that will hopefully make living with ADHD a little easier.

The book is split into simple-to-understand sections such as having lots of energy, being hyper-focused, and having strong morals. Each section talks about how having ADHD can make Pip feel or behave and how they can help themselves. Such as Pip being disorganised can make them cranky and annoyed when they can’t find items, so spending five minutes tidying up and putting items in their place can help them to feel more relaxed.

Alongside the age-appropriate text are fabulous illustrations that show Pip in different situations. These illustrations are bright, colourful, and bring fun to the book.

Overall, My Amazing ADHD Brain: A Child’s Guide to Thriving with ADHD is a book that every child with ADHD and their parents/guardians/siblings should read. It is filled with useful and helpful information which will help to make a child with ADHD realise they are not alone and that by changing little things they can really help make their lives a little easier and happier.
