Review by Stacey
My First Book of Dinosaurs by Zoe Ingram is an informative and educational read for young children. Inside this hardcover book, you will find facts on twenty different dinosaurs, some I’d never even heard of.
On each double-page children will discover a different dinosaur starting with Coelophysis. On the pages, the reader will learn things such as the dinosaur’s length, their height, and how tall they were compared to an adult male. Their weight, diet, where and when they roamed the earth, and how to pronounce their name. There is a Did You Know? section on each page too, along with some basic information about how they looked, their claws, how they hunted, etc.
The pages are filled with include bright, colourful illustrations that showcase how each dinosaur looked. The colours really pop off the page and the images are wonderful to look at.
I loved this book. It reminds me of the books my now twenty-year-old son used to read all the time when he was little, as he was dinosaur mad. It is certainly educational but is written in a way that children won’t even realise they are learning as it is such fun to read. I can see this book keeping children amused for long periods of time whilst they soak up the knowledge of these prehistoric creatures.
