Review by Stacey
My First Christmas Cook Book is a children’s festive recipe book filled with delicious goods to make. There are thirty-five recipes split into four sections.
-Sweets and Edibles
-Party Food
-Christmas Cakes and Biscuits
-Festive Showstoppers
At the front of the book is a list of items that should be bought ready for cooking, an equipment list, and and ‘How To’ section on making things such as a gift box or jam jars, etc.
Each item has a dedicated page or double page. There is a list of ingredients, top tips, method, and little info on the item. The method is written in square section stages and each square is illustrated.
The book is quite lovely and there are plenty of amazing recipes inside including Crunchy Peanut Butter Cups, Marzipan Holly, and Christmas Slushy.
I can see this book being a big hit with children, especially those who love to bake. My only tiny criticism is that I would have preferred photographs along the way of the finished items and within the method as some of the drawings are not that clear on what is happening.
