Review by Stacey
Once Upon an Atom is a children’s picture book that shares with the reader, via a poem, the joy of science, how science is always present, and teaches them what the difference is between biology, physics, and chemistry.
The book is quite basic so don’t expect any real information or in-depth analysis here but as a starter for a child just beginning to understand what science is this would be perfect.
It is filled to the brim with bright colours that adorn every page and the text forms part of the illustrations and is in different fonts, sizes, and colours.
Overall, Once Upon an Atom is an enjoyable read. It contains some factual information at the back such as Curie inventing x-rays and the ancient Egyptians inventing lighthouses. As an introduction to science, this book would be perfect.
