The series “Witchy Travel Tales” tells the story of a witch called Miranda who has seven beautiful daughters. Miranda and her daughters cross seven seas in search of a better home. One stormy night they land on the Seven Sisters Cliffs, south of England.

This book is the first in a series of books that tells the travel tales of the witch and her seven daughters, who explore the beautiful land they have arrived in and visit ancient sites throughout England and the World in search of magic.

New one review witch 2017

Miranda the Witch has seven daughter. She wants to find somewhere to keep them safe and that they will love and never want to leave. So heading out on a boat the family sail the seven seas looking for just a place.

Soon they come across white cliffs that look just perfect. The place isn’t just beautiful though, it is also home to magical bunnies. Is this the perfect place for Miranda and her family?

‘The Seven Sisters’, is the first book in ‘The Witchy Travel Tales’ series by Sibel Beadle. Upon reading the book I had mixed feelings on what I thought about it.

The story was certainly different from any other children’s book that I have come across, and was also enjoyable too. The illustrations are a little overpowering, yet strangely I loved them, they suited the book perfectly.

I like that we got to meet each of the girls individually and got to see just how different they are and their likes and powers. My only grumble was I wasn’t sure what to make about the houses, as it seemed quite strange that they would all live separate, even the very little girls, I was expecting them to stay with their mum. Perhaps witches mature quicker than us mere mortals!!

The Seven Sisters is an adorable book which catches the imagination. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

About the Author

sibel beadle

Sibel Beadle started writing the children’s book series “Witchy Travel Tales” when she was getting divorced. She wrote her first story when her children went away with their Dad on holiday for the very first time without her. Sibel bought her eldest daughter a mobile phone so she could stay in contact with her. Every night her kids begged for a good night story and so at bedtime Sibel would send her children paragraphs of an imaginary story. Her kids loved the messages, the quirky characters and the story that unravelled every night so Sibel later compiled the various messages into her first book, “The Seven Sisters”.

Since then, Sibel has explored many beautiful locations in the World and has written stories about places she has visited every time her kids have been away with their Dad. Her writing deliberately tries to inspire and encourage children to visit these magical places. Her stories capture a real sense of imagination and excitement and try to help children deal with the real life problems young people face in today’s world, all without losing a sense of magic.
