Review by Stacey
Splish, Splash! is a children’s book for our youngest readers. They can follow fish as she swims in the ocean and meets lots of other creatures. Little ones will have fun pulling and moving the flaps inside to reveal hidden images and creatures.
This board book is sturdy and strong making it hard for children to rip, tear, and ruin. It is small in size which is perfect for little hands, though it is quite heavy.
The full-page illustrations are bright and colourful. Artist Sophie Ledesma has used colours that are vivid and eye-catching. Fish is a lovely orange colour and stands out on every page.
The text is kept to a minimum and comes in two font sizes, large and extra-large. All pages, except one, ask a question and at the back, there is a double-page illustration of all the sea creatures that could have been found in the book and the children can check whether they saw them or not.
Splish, Splash! is an adorable book that little ones will enjoy reading and playing with. The flaps, sliders, and pulls are a little stiff at first, so make sure you move them about to loosen them up before giving the book to a child.
