Synopsis
Missing persons specialist Frankie Elkin is on an isolated island off the coast of Hawaii.
Her mission: to find Lani, the missing sister of a Death Row serial killer known as the Beautiful Butcher who is awaiting execution in just three weeks’ time.
According to the Beautiful Butcher’s sources, Lani is being held captive by her millionaire ex-boyfriend on the island. The only way to gain access is for Frankie to go undercover.
But can Frankie really trust the word of a serial killer?
Plus, this island is no paradise with deadly creatures and suspicious co-workers at every turn, and an incoming tropical storm about to cut her off from the outside world.
Could this be Frankie Elkin’s most dangerous case yet?
Review by Clive
Still See You Everywhere is the third book by Lisa Gardner to feature Frankie Elkin and very good it is too. I have previously read and reviewed a book by this author but I have not read the other two books in this series. That did not affect my understanding or enjoyment in any way.
Gardner, who has also written as Alicia Scott, has now been writing successful novels for thirty years during which time she has received many top awards. That experience shows throughout Still See You Everywhere which is a well-crafted and tense thriller which grabbed my attention from page one and kept me engrossed to the very end.
The book is written in the first person from Frankie’s perspective which made her nature and position really understandable. The opening chapters consist of a fairly long back story. Some authors might have drip fed this background information within the plot but once it was completed the real action takes over and does not stop.
The setting of Pomaikai was excellent; initially sounding idyllic yet truly remote and full of unimagined dangers. I understand the island was inspired by Gardner’s travels during a recent twelve month sabbatical which have also given her ideas for future stories. The uniqueness of the island’s environment enabled Gardner to assemble a fascinating collection of experts and misfits which I really enjoyed learning about. Of course, being a thriller, not all were what they claimed to be!
At times the action was very violent but I found it all bearable. There were also plenty of unexpected twists to keep the attention.
The fourth Frankie Elkin book, Kiss Her Goodbye, is due for publication in August 2025 but for new fans the previous books, Before She Disappeared and One Step Too Far are of course available. For Still See You Everywhere I have awarded a full five stars.

A self-described research junkie, #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner has parlayed her interest in police procedure, criminal minds and twisted plots into a streak of internationally recognized novels. Her 2010 novel, THE NEIGHBOR, won Best Thriller from the International Thriller Writers. Most recently, she was honored with the Silver Bullet Award for her work with at-risk kids and rescue animals.
Lisa’s latest series features Frankie Elkin, an everyday average woman who specializes in finding missing people. When the locals have given up, when the media has never bothered to care, Frankie takes on the challenge from finding a disappeared Haitian teen in Mattapan (BEFORE SHE DISAPPEARED), to a vanished hiker in the wilds of Wyoming (ONE STEP TOO FAR), to a possibly kidnapped younger sister of a serial killer on a remote island in the Pacific (STILL SEE YOU EVERYWHERE).
Her other series include the FBI Profilers, Detective D.D. Warren and PI Tessa Leoni. When not writing, Lisa loves to hike, travel the world, and yes, read, read, read!
