Wyming Wendlesday started back in 2017 and originally began with a silly weekly poem just to start everyone’s day with a smile.

It became very popular and kind of took on a life of its own with Monty the self-titled Poet Newfiette penning verses about his life in Wigwam, observations of his hoomans, and his agony of sharing a home with Cookie aka the Heffalump aka the Hairy Hippo, and of course the Spangles.

When the ‘Cwissymouse’ poems started in 2015 they were so popular that we had the idea of asking for a donation to charity leading up to their release the week before the big day.

This resulted in thousands of pounds being raised for animal welfare, veterans and children’s charities.

Monty passed in 2022 but not before sharing his life with everyone through his stories and poems. This book has been a labour of love for me and a lovely way to honour his memory.

Every Wednesday there would be a poem featured on the page about Monty’s life, his furry brothers and sisters or his hoomans and this is a collection of those poems.

Many of the poems come with short explanations about them and there are black and white photos within of the now late Monty Dogge. Monty’s life brought joy to many people both young and old and these poems carry on that legacy.

This is a book you can sit and read poem after poem or dip in and out of when you need a pick-me-up. They are all short enough to read within a minute or two but the words will stay with you far longer.
