Synopsis

Sing, roar and growl along with the animals, in this brilliantly bonkers twist on the classic Wheels on the Bus!

The wheels on the bus go round and round …
But who’s that getting on? OH, NO!
It’s a LION! And a PANTHER! And a CROCODILE!
This bus ride is about to get very wild – but is it really as scary as it seems?

A toothsome take on a much loved nursery rhyme – with an all-singing, all-dancing finale!

Review by Stacey

The Lion on the Bus is a rewording of the classic children’s song ‘The Wheels on the Bus’. This time instead of the wheels going round and round or the wipers going swish, swish, swish, we have a lion on the bus going rar, rar, rar. Followed by a panther, crocodile, and some wolves.

The story is a lot of fun and children and adults together can sing the amusing lyrics. I particularly liked the bus driver’s reaction to the animals being on his bus, and how the people passing him by think that he is waving at them rather than trying to tell them about the animals. The ending is amusing too.

This is a book I can see children asking to be read to them over and over again. It is illustrated beautifully with full-page, colourful illustrations that are humorous to look at. It will also make children giggle, keep them entertained, and have them blasting out their singing voices following the lyrics.
