The four friends were having a lovely day when an explorer appeared and asked for their help to locate the Caringstone, a gem that could make even the saddest child smile. The quest for the precious gem is no easy feat, but armed with an ancient map, the four friends, accompanied by the explorer and his parrot, embark on a grand adventure.

The story is very charming and contains a fabulous message about being there for one another and using your abilities and talents to make the most out of a situation.

The story reminded me a little of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, as the group kept on coming up against obstacles that stood in their pathway and had to work out how to get past them.

The vibrant and expressive illustrations enhance the overall reading experience and works superbly with the text and show the group having a wonderful time on their adventure.

Overall, The Sunny Day Squad: The Quest for the Caringstone is a delightful and engaging story that gives young readers wonderful lessons and a truly amazing story. I think the squad has pulled off their latest mission as I can see little ones loving this book and feeling joyful whilst and after reading it.
