A sibling tale about a unicorn named Jewel and her younger brother Sky who is constantly getting into mischief. After a day spent picking up after Sky, Jewel learns the reason for his misconduct.

Review 2020 red

Jewel is a considerate sister, but she’s a little overwhelmed by her younger brother Sky’s wayward behavior. Wherever he goes, he’s fooling around with her stuff and knocking it over. Each time he does this, he leaves a big mess behind. A dutiful sister, Jewel cleans everything up.

As a mother and an older sister to two younger brothers, I related all too well to Jewel’s plight. Growing up, younger siblings can be hard to deal with at times. My brothers drove me crazy! My son, who is the oldest, also struggled with learning to live with a younger sibling. All my daughter wanted to do was play with him all the time. It took a while, but now they’re adults and thick as thieves.

A lovely story for any family about to experience the birth of a new baby or a little sibling rivalry. Jewel is a wonderful character for children to emulate. She models the compassion and understanding children need to learn to develop positive and healthy interpersonal relationships.

Robledo’s pictures match the story nicely.
