Synopsis
An enchanting, rhyming story that takes you on a journey of imagination and endless possibilities.
Have you ever let your imagination run free?
I have, and as I sit and wonder what is hiding inside Winderly Wood my imagination takes me on the most magical adventure into a world of possibilities. I make friends with a dragon, meet a clock that stops time, stumble across a secret house in the woods, get lost in a labyrinth and visit the most beautiful, dazzling ice castle.
The Wonders of Winderly Wood is an enchanting children’s story that creates a moment of calm, encouraging mindfulness, visualisations and relaxation in young children. Just like adults do, children can significantly benefit from practising mindfulness, which supports positive well-being. This beautiful rhyming story allows the reader to use their own imagination and creative thinking and has been brought to life with lovely illustrations created by the author’s daughter Brooke, aged 11.
Review by Stacey
The Wonders of Winderly Wood speaks directly to the reader in a rhyming manner and is all about children learning to use their imaginations and letting it roam free to see where it will take them.
Will it be a dragon camouflaged by the trees or an ice palace that they see, maybe it is a clock with a face stopping time for a while? The possibilities are endless when you use your imagination.
The book is such a joy to read, it makes you feel happy and the illustrations by the author’s eleven-year-old daughter are amazing. She is very talented and captures the words perfectly and brings them to life.
This is a story that has a magical feel to it. Using your imagination sparks creativity. There is no right or wrong way to use it, everyone has a different viewpoint to what they see, even if they are given the starting point and that is what this book celebrates and teaches.
The Wonders of Winderly Wood is a truly adorable, ingenious, and thought-provoking book, one that I can see being read over and over again, whether by children or their parents/guardians to them.
