Review by Selina
In Under Your Spell, we meet Clementine Monroe, known as Clemmie. Life has taken a turn for the worse for Clemmie after she suffers a break up with her rock star cheating ex-boyfriend Len after 4 years together, She has also recently been left unemployed from her job and now she needs a new place to live.
With the help of her sisters Lil and Serena, they decide to revive a childhood ritual called the Breakup Spell, which sees them casting a spell and making three wishes. As the months go on the wishes seem to be coming true for the sisters, though not without a few mishaps.
Clemmie starts a new job as a housekeeper for six weeks at a cottage of the famous and handsome Theo Elliot, who just happens to be a rock star and is recording a new album. She has sworn off celebrities as her absent dad is Ripp Harris, also a huge rock star from many years ago. But with the clear chemistry between the couple can Clemmie allow herself to fall in love again or has past experiences put her off love forever?
I found Under Your Spell lovely to read, especially the relationship that grew between Clemmie and Theo and how they took the time to get to know each other. It certainly felt like a perfect pairing.
Author Laura Wood really connected us to her characters and made the three sisters have a great dynamic and bond with one another. This is such a feel-good, funny story that came with plenty of twists and turns, as well, as mountains of laugh-out-loud moments.
I adored this book and this is one story that will stay with me and hopefully you for a long time once you have closed the pages.
