Review by Stacey
I often find short story collections a bit hit and miss and Vengefully Yours unfortunately was no exception to this. Some stories within held my attention and I adored, others I didn’t really care for or couldn’t get into them.
The book contains six different stories that all have a recurring theme, romance (sorts of). They are all told from a male POV and each portrays the male as the hero. Some are quite dark, some a little steamy.
The book is only 150 pages long so as you can imagine containing six stories within that they are quite short and some of them didn’t feel quite finished like we got a snapshot of the full book.
What I did like about the book is that the stories were unique and different from anything I had read recently. I loved the snappiness of them and that I could dive in and out when I only had a few minutes spare. There were also a couple of gems within – Behind the Eight Ball and Angel of La Seine. I think because they weave past and present together they intrigued me.
Overall, the collection is pretty decent and it was good to step away from my normal reads for a couple of days.
