Synopsis
Join fabulous vampire Vlad as he learns to embrace his pink cheeks and and find his confidence!
Vlad’s passion is fashion. And just like every other vampire, Vlad dresses head to toe in the colour black. But unlike other vampires, Vlad has bright pink cheeks: cheeks that make him look, and feel, so different. Vlad tries to hide behind his clothes and his cape but, as it turns out, being yourself – truly yourself – is the most fabulous way to be.
An uplifting and charming celebration of our differences set in the same monster universe as the New York Times #1 bestseller, Gustavo, the Shy Ghost and Leila, the Perfect Witch.
Review by Stacey
Vlad the Vampire loves fashion. He keeps his clothes to everything black hoping that no one will notice his bright pink cheeks which he hides behind his cape.
One day whilst out walking he sees his friend Shelley who is in trouble. Something is pulling at her bat hat which comes off and reveals her bright pink hair. Together the two feel more confident in how they look and they stop hiding their differences from those around them.
Vlad, The Fabulous Vampire is a fantastic story for helping children understand that people are not the same and to celebrate differences. The book is quite large around A4 in size, and is filled to the brim with amazing illustrations that gives you so much to look at. It might feature vampires and other paranormal beings but it certainly isn’t spooky.
I adored this book. I loved the colours, the story, the morals. It is such a fun and entertaining read and it would make the perfect book to share with your children/guardians at Halloween.
