Synopsis
It’s bedtime in the forest, but Wolf is WIDE AWAKE. No matter what he tries, he just can’t get to sleep! There’s only one explanation: sleep must be hiding! But where could it be? And will Wolf EVER find it?
Review by Stacey
Wolf was trying to sleep but he couldn’t, then he had an idea. Perhaps sleep is hiding and he sets off to find it.
Along the way, he meets Badger and Hedgehog who both try to help Wolf find his sleep. After searching everywhere they decide to ask the wise owl who tells them that they can’t find sleep and that sleep will find them.
Wide Awake Wolf is such a glorious children’s book. It is adorned with beautiful illustrations that fill each page with nightly scenes and three friends all looking for the same thing.
The story is calming, relaxing, and would make an ideal bedtime read. This is a book that will show your children how sleep comes and hopefully have them snuggling down into bed after you have read it to, or with them and gently falling asleep.
I love the plot, including the little twist at the end. I love the colours of the illustrations in their wondrous purples and blues that emphasise night-time, and I love how three friends try to help each other. This is an amazing children’s book that I adored the whole way through.
